One father, one engineer. My apps are born from the realities of parenting.
Body:
Hi, I'm KotoApp. I'm a father of two and an independent engineer who develops apps that support you through your 'little struggles'.
My app ideas are always born from real-life experiences. The baby cry-recording app, Nakimemo, came from the helplessness I felt during my own child's intense crying spells. The AI consultation app, Sodatalk, was inspired by a marital spat that made me wish for a 24/7, non-judgmental AI to talk to.
Currently, I'm developing O-tayori Calendar, an app to help parents easily manage the endless stream of paper handouts from their children's school or kindergarten.
My Journey:
I studied electrical engineering at university but jumped into the IT world thinking it would be easy. My first job in Tokyo was a trial by fire, spending three years as a "firefighter" on burning projects with endless overtime.
With the skills I gained and a desire to leave the Tokyo grind, I returned to my hometown. Now, as a freelance engineer, I'm finally able to build the things I truly want to build.
Let's Connect:
On my note blog and X (Twitter), I share the entire process of my app development transparently. I believe every success, failure, and debugging struggle might be a useful tip for someone else.
If you're interested in my work, please try out my apps or say hello on social media. It would make my day.
